The Dutch Electric Bicycle VanMoof Gets A New Round Of Investment

Dutch electric bicycle manufacturer VanMoof announced that it has been led by Asian private equity firm Hillhouse Capital. VanMoof's new C round of financing is 108 million euros. This is the largest C round investment ever made by a European electric bicycle brand.
The funds will increase VanMoof's total amount to US$182 million in less than two years and will be used to expand production, improve hardware and software components, and make it easier for consumers to use electric bicycles.
VanMoof said that during the COVID-19 lockdown, global demand for electric bicycles has increased, and more and more urban commuters are using bicycles as a means of transportation.
