According to the European Electric Vehicle Manufacturers Association LEVA-EU, the European Court of Justice made a first-instance judgment at the end of April to lift the anti-dumping and countervailing duty sanctions against Giant.

On October 20, 2017, the European Commission launched an anti-dumping investigation on electric bicycles (E-bikes) originating in China in response to an application submitted by the European Bicycle Manufacturers Association (EMBA). A countervailing investigation was launched on the products involved. On January 18, 2019, the European Commission issued the final judgment of the anti-dumping and countervailing investigation, with tax rates ranging from 18.8% to 79.3% for different companies. This tax rate is effective from January 19, 2019, and the tax period ends on January 18, 2024. Since only Giant China appealed during the period, the European Court of Justice only made a ruling on Giant's case this time, and the ruling only applies to Giant China's electric bicycles, and the tax rates of other companies remain unchanged. Huge pointed out that a press release will not be issued until the final judgment of the case at the end of June.
