In recent years, with the continuous advancement of science and technology, lithium batteries for electric vehicles have developed rapidly and have become the batteries favored by many electric vehicle companies. As we mentioned earlier, compared to the total amount of more than 30 million, lithium bicycles only account for less than 5%, which is too small. Compared with the EU, which has a population of just over 500 million, the consumption of lithium-ion bicycles has exceeded one million. What a huge market space should we have in Mainland China with a population of more than 1.3 billion! More importantly, electric bicycles are still in the stage of large-scale application of lead-acid batteries in our country. If this situation and technical level continue to be maintained for a long time, the electric bicycle industry will not have much development. We have been vigorously advocating and encouraging the development of lithium-ion electric bicycles. This is the next stage of the development direction of the industry, promoting the upgrading of electric bicycle products, transforming the industrial development mode, and benefiting hundreds of millions of electric bicycle consumers. Therefore, there is no doubt that the output of lithium-ion electric bicycles will continue to grow steadily.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China is actively advancing the formulation of a new national standard for lithium batteries, which has an impact beyond imagination and even stirred up the capital market: on the day the standard was implemented, stocks in related industries rose sharply, reaching the daily limit. On the one hand, it shows the importance of government policy orientation to an industry. On the other hand, it also shows that relevant government departments are paying more attention to lithium-ion electric bicycles and giving specific support. Since the four ministries and commissions rectified lead-acid batteries in 2009, we have been saying that the spring of lithium batteries has arrived. However, the industry has always been more enthusiastic than action, and only in the last two years has there been a clear spring temperature and breath.

So, does this mean that lithium batteries for electric vehicles will usher in an explosion in the future? Today I will give you a key analysis from three levels.

First of all, from the perspective of product performance, compared with lead-acid batteries, lithium batteries are lighter and have higher energy density. In addition, lithium batteries are more adaptable to the environment. Of course, the most important thing is that lithium batteries have a longer lifespan, because the number of charge and discharge times of a general lead-acid battery can reach about 350 times, while the number of charge and discharge times for a lithium battery can usually exceed 500 times. However, compared with lead-acid batteries, the stability of lithium batteries will be relatively poor, but with technological progress, lithium batteries will gradually improve this shortcoming. Therefore, from this perspective, the future of lithium batteries for electric vehicles will usher in an explosion.

Secondly, from the perspective of market demand, since the introduction of the new national standard for electric vehicles and the new national standard for batteries, the industry's requirements for batteries have become increasingly strict. The battery will also develop in the direction of lightweight, which means that lithium batteries will be more in line with the requirements of the national standard. Therefore, from this perspective, the future of lithium batteries for electric vehicles will usher in an explosion.

Finally, from the perspective of corporate layout, some electric vehicle companies in the industry have also launched national-standard vehicles powered by lithium batteries, which will also accelerate the development of lithium batteries. In addition, leading-acid battery companies in the industry have also accelerated their pace of transformation and launched their own lithium battery products. With the deployment of these companies in the field of lithium batteries, it is bound to become the industry's vane, thus accelerating the explosion of lithium batteries.

In short, from the perspective of product performance, market demand, and enterprise layout, lithium batteries are bound to usher in an explosion. However, limited by the market and other reasons, lithium batteries still have a long way to go. For enterprises, at this time, only by continuously increasing R&D efforts and creating safer and more stable lithium batteries can lithium batteries achieve explosive development.

The implementation of the new national standard will undoubtedly bring a new round of market vitality to the domestic lithium battery industry, but in terms of product quality, safety performance and consumer experience, it is not easy for domestic lithium battery manufacturers to really want to share the pie.

The first is quality and safety. It is understood that the 18650 battery has the advantages of high production automation, good stability, high replaceability, and relatively low cost. At present, the battery model of lithium-ion electric bicycles launched in China is mainly 18650.

However, the biggest drawback of the 18650 battery is that its single battery capacity is low, so the number of batteries required is very large, and the battery management is more complicated. This leads to the need for thermal management when the 18650 battery is working. Due to the small internal temperature difference of the monomer, the entire battery pack It is difficult to keep the temperature difference within an appropriate range.

In the price-sensitive field of electric bicycles, on the one hand, it is necessary to do well in battery safety management, on the other hand, it is necessary to ensure low cost, which is still challenging for lithium battery manufacturers.

The second is vicious competition within the industry. At present, there are many domestic battery manufacturers engaged in 18650 models, and the homogeneity of their products is serious. In the context of market chasing profits, low-price competition and mixed low-quality products are inevitable. Therefore, the market needs to be alert to the phenomenon of bad money driving out good money.

The third is the market impact of world-class battery manufacturers. Recently, the new products released by companies such as Emma all carry international labels such as "Panasonic" and "LG". To gain a foothold in the high-end market, imported batteries have become an important choice for electric bicycle manufacturers.

We have also noticed that Panasonic is also taking advantage of the electric bicycle market in China. In this non-subsidy field, consumer demand controls the dominant voice in the market. As market consumption levels upgrade, imported batteries may occupy a certain important position.

Fourth, the market position of the lead-acid market in Tier 3, Tier 4 and below cities is difficult to shake in the short term. On the one hand, lead-acid batteries still have advantages that are difficult to match with lithium batteries in terms of price space and marketing network; on the other hand, new technologies that promote the performance of lead-acid batteries are still emerging.

In the long run, the death knell of lead-acid batteries in the field of electric bicycles has been sounded, and lithium-ionization will become an unstoppable trend. However, in the next 2-3 years, there will still be a coexistence of lithium and lead-acid batteries.

(1) Output will continue its upward trend and increase steadily.

(2) Products will continue to innovate and guide consumption.

For more than ten years, because the power source of electric bicycles is basically dominated by lead-acid batteries, and the limitations of lead-acid battery technology have also affected the innovation of product functions and design innovations, resulting in the existence of functions in the electric bicycle industry. The phenomenon of lack of shape complement and high homogeneity. The further promotion of lithium-ion bicycles has created conditions for the extensive absorption of achievements in the technical field and continuous updating of functions and quality. Now some leading companies are trying to perfectly combine high-strength lightweight materials with lithium batteries, and their innovative products have given a new look to electric bicycles. We have reason to expect more lithium-ion bicycle products with simple structure, light weight, intelligent operation, convenient maintenance, safe normalization, and personalized plastic arts to continue to enter the market and be loved by consumers.

(3) The environment will gradually improve and promote development.

In recent years, the state has given full affirmation and support to the development of new energy lithium batteries from the central to local governments. In particular, the development of pure electric vehicles has given unprecedented policy, public opinion orientation, and financial subsidies. Strong support; but so far there is no policy to support electric bicycles. However, what makes us proud is that as a branch of electric vehicles, lithium battery electric bicycles have achieved industrialization and commercialization before electric vehicles. Its market operation mode and experience are more worthy of becoming the best in the industrialization of electric vehicles. The breakthrough and the best training ground. This has formed a force mechanism for the relevant government departments to issue industrial policies, and is also a full demonstration of the objective and reasonableness of the industry's existence.
