The UK government's Trade Remedy Agency (TRA) has proposed that the UK should allow two new Chinese e-bike makers to lower import duties. In a statement, the TRA said the change in tariff rates would help meet growing market demand as e-bike sales in the UK grow. The European Commission imposed anti-dumping measures on Chinese-made electric bicycles as early as 2019. The TRA is proposing to give two Chinese e-bike and tricycle makers new exporter status, enabling them to pay lower anti-dumping import duties to export their products to the UK. Otherwise, exporters who fail to cooperate with preliminary trade remedy investigations will face much higher tax rates
