Spain's Electric Bicycle Sales Set A Record in 2020

According to data from the Spanish Bicycle Industry Association, in 2020, the sales of electric bicycles in Spain will be 2,216,350,000 (Germany: 1.95 million). Compared with sales of 1.43 million electric bicycles in 2019, this is equivalent to an increase of nearly 50% (1.4 million in Germany). The market share of electric bicycles in the entire Spanish bicycle market has risen to 13.6% of all complete bicycle sales (Germany: 39%), making it the third largest market segment after mountain bikes and children's bicycles.

The share of electric bicycles in sales has also increased significantly. In 2020, electric bicycles generated 562 million euros, which is nearly 42% of total bicycle sales. This is due to an average unit price of nearly 2,650 euros for electric bicycles, an increase of more than 10% compared to the same period last year.
