WindMobility, an electric scooter start-up from Berlin, Germany, has received US$22 million in first round financing from China Source Capital and European HV Holtzbrinck Ventures

WindMobilit said that the funds will be used for global expansion and further development of electric scooters. WindMobility currently operates electric scooters rental business in several cities in Spain, France and the United States, and rents dockless shared bicycles in Berlin.

co-founder and CEO Eric Wang said: “At present, almost all scooters on the market come from Ninebot, but its products are designed for personal use rather than shared rental,” he said. "Our own scooters are designed for sharing, with longer cruising range, replaceable batteries, stronger climbing ability, stronger quality, and more suitable size. We can also customize scooters for the needs of specific cities, This motivates us to continue to meet customer needs and regulatory requirements."

In addition, WindMobility has also developed unique Internet of Things technology and communication components, enabling the company to more accurately grasp the location of the scooter. The system can also provide wireless upgrades for communication components and further realize the specific functions of remotely controlling the scooter.

Co-founder and CEO Eric Wang also said: "The potential of the European electric scooter market is still huge. The greater competition is still to convert car users into scooters or public transportation users. We are at the forefront of this transformation process. Looking forward to cooperating with cities and authorities to meet the increasing demand."
