WEIDEN, Germany – After first taking over the Bionicon distribution in Germany in 2017, importer Motor Sport Accessories GmbH (MSA) recently acquired “The Bionicon brand and distribution rights as well as all Bionicon patents for the European market”. With it Bionicon also moved to MSA’s HQ in Weiden, Germany.
The start of a cooperation between MSA and Bionicon became evident at the 2016 Eurobike show. Here the Bionicon Mountain bikes and e-MTBs were on display at the MSA booth. Motor Sport Accessoires GmbH also operates its own e-bike brand Trenoli and is the exclusive distributor for Germany and Austria of the Strida; the belt driven folding bike made by Ming Cycle. In 2017 MSA got the exclusive Bionicon distribution rights for Germany which proved to be a win-win situation. With the MSA support the Bionicon Mountain bike brand was able to switch from its direct-to-consumer approach to the more service-oriented dealer-distribution.
The Bionicon brand and products is to complement the current MSA portfolio. The company can be typified as a full service provider for two-wheelers. Next to bicycles and e-bikes with Bionicon, Strida and Trenoli, the company imports Kymco, Quadro, Hyosung and F.B Mondial scooters and motorcycles as well as the accessory brand Speeds and the helmet brand Peakstream.
“Bionicon will be an important pillar in our overall portfolio and will strengthen our bike sector activities with absolutely top-quality premium mountain bikes that impress with their innovative suspension technology. After serving the electric bicycle market with Trenoli, primarily in the city, trekking and touring segments, Bionicon is an ideal addition to our product range in the e-bike performance/sports sector. Our goal is to build a complete Bionicon range of sporty bicycles focusing on mountainbikes. Together, as a team, we can ensure the future of the Bionicon brand and supply the entire German market with Bionicon bikes through IBDs”, explains MSA Managing Director Gerald Federl.
