According to foreign media reports, the electric bicycle market in the Netherlands has continued to grow significantly. Market analysis shows that highly focuses on a minority manufacturer, which is very different from Germany.
The Leva-EU report of the Industry Association has been registered with 29,683 fast electric bicycles so far this year. Compared with the end of 2021, there are 27,538 electric bicycles, and 23,793 vehicles at the end of 2020. A year -on -year increase of 8%.

The electric bicycle market is highly concentrated in the top three brands, namely Stromer, RIESE & Müller, and Sparta, with a market share of 64%. This is mainly due to the small number of local electric bicycle manufacturers.
Despite new sales, the average age of electric bicycles in the Dutch market has reached 3.9 years. The three major brands Stromer, Sparta and Riese & Müller have about 3,100 electric bicycles for more than 5 years, and 38 different brands have 3,501 vehicles for more than 5 years. A total of 43%(nearly 13,000 vehicles) have more than five years of age. And the electric bicycle before 2015 has reached 2,400. In the Dutch market, 69%of the number of people purchased electric bicycles for the first time, reaching 9,300 vehicles. In addition, 98% were purchased in the Netherlands, with only 700 speed electric bicycles from the Netherlands.
In the first half of 2022, sales increased by 11%compared with the same period in 2021. However, the result is still 7%lower than the sales in the first half of 2020. The average increase of 25%in the first four months of 2022, and then declined in May and June. According to Speed Pedelec Evolutie, the total sales of 2022 were 4,149 units, an increase of 5%compared to 2021.
ZIV reports that the Dutch people have five times the German bicycle (S-Pedelecs). Considering the elimination of electric bicycles, 8,000 high -speed electric bicycles (Netherlands: 17.4 million people) were sold in 2021. This number was more than four and a half times that of Germany with more than 83.4 million residents in 2021. Therefore, the Dutch's enthusiasm for electric bicycles is much more obvious than Germany.
