Statistics On Exports Of Bicycles And Electric Bicycles In Taiwan From January To September

According to statistics compiled by the Customs Administration of Taiwan’s Ministry of Finance, the statistics on the export performance of bicycles and electric bicycles in Taiwan from January to September are as follows:
From January to September 2020, China’s Taiwanese bicycles (87120010) exported more than 1.22 million units, a decrease of 14.49% compared with the same period last year. The export value reached more than US$804 million, a decrease of 11.04% compared with the same period last year. The average export unit price was US$657.76, compared with last year. In the same period, it was US$613.21, an increase of 3.51%. Exports of finished cars and spare parts totaled more than US$1.915 billion, a slight decrease of 2.87% from the same period last year.
From January to September 2020, more than 543,000 electric assisted bicycles were exported, an increase of 9.59% over the previous year. The export value was more than US$698 million, an increase of 8.33% over the same period last year. The average export unit price was US$1,285.06, a decrease of 1.26% over the same period last year.
From January to September 2020, 18,574 finished vehicles exported to mainland China (excluding other bicycles with tariff number 871200900004), an increase of 4.52% over the same period last year, an export value of more than US$18.68 million, an increase of 8.24%, and an average unit price of US$1,006.11 increased 3.73%. The export of spare parts to mainland China exceeded US$99.29 million, an increase of 4.69%.
179,070 finished cars were imported from mainland China, a decrease of 25.86% compared with the same period last year. The import value was more than US$14.97 million, a decrease of 13.09%, and the average unit price was US$83.64, an increase of 13.21%; the import of spare parts from mainland China was about US$324 million, a decrease 6.53%.
