Lithium battery protection board principle



Lithium battery protection board is mainly an integrated circuit board that protects rechargeable (generally refers to lithium battery). The reason why the lithium battery needs protection is determined by its own characteristics. Because the material of the lithium battery itself determines that it cannot be overcharged, overdischarged, overcurrent, short-circuited, and ultra-high temperature charge and discharge, so lithium battery lithium battery components will always appear with a delicate protection board and a current fuse.



Due to the chemical characteristics of the lithium battery, during normal use, the chemical positive reaction between electrical energy and chemical energy is carried out inside, but under certain conditions, such as overcharging, overdischarging and overcurrent will cause the internal battery A chemical side reaction occurs. Therefore, all lithium batteries need a protection circuit for effectively monitoring the battery's charge and discharge status, and under certain conditions to turn off the charge and discharge circuit to prevent damage to the battery.



How to repair the lithium battery protection board?



1. No voltage or abnormal voltage



If there is no voltage or voltage abnormality, we should adjust the multimeter to 20V DC, and then use the red meter pen to contact the positive electrode of the lithium battery cell, and the black meter pen to contact the negative electrode of the cell. If the multimeter shows no voltage or the voltage is very low , It proves that the battery is damaged.



2. No over-current protection



If there is no over-current protection and other phenomena, first check whether the circuit of the over-current detection pin is defective. If so, replace the protection IC.



3. No resistance or excessive resistance



You need to find the reason from the identification circuit of the resistance pad to check whether the identification resistor is unsoldered, whether the wrong resistor is attached, and whether there is a short circuit or open circuit.



4. No internal resistance or excessive internal resistance



1. If there is no internal resistance, you need to check whether the pins of the mos tube are damaged. If so, replace the mos tube.



2. If the internal resistance is too large, it is necessary to use the probe to contact the protection plate of the lithium battery of the electric fish to detect whether there is poor contact or excessive oxidation. You also need to check whether there is a phenomenon of adding more nickel sheets on the battery cells. If too many nickel sheets on the battery cells will cause the phenomenon of excessive internal resistance.



The role of lithium battery BMS management system



Lithium battery management system BMS is a control system that protects the safety of power battery usage. It monitors the battery usage status at all times, alleviates the inconsistency of battery packs through necessary measures, and provides security for the use of new energy vehicles.



The lithium battery management system BMS determines the status of the entire battery system by detecting the status of each battery cell in the power battery pack, and performs corresponding control adjustment and strategy implementation on the power battery system according to their status to realize the power lithium battery system and Charge and discharge management of each cell to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power battery system.



Lithium battery BMS misunderstanding



1) The more functions, the better. The function can meet the needs. The more the better, the simpler the system and the higher the reliability.



2) The acquisition accuracy of parameters such as voltage or temperature is deliberately pursued. The reason is as above, the accuracy can meet the needs, too high accuracy will not necessarily bring the performance improvement of BMS, but will increase the cost.



3) BMS can repair batteries with poor performance. BMS cannot repair a battery with poor performance. At best, it can slow down its deterioration and suppress its impact.



4) Balance can solve the inconsistency of the battery's own capacity. Separate charge equalization or discharge equalization has no obvious improvement effect on capacity difference, only large current discharge equalization can improve capacity inconsistency.
