China's Bicycle And Parts Exports Doubled in The First Quarter

According to China Customs statistics, in the first quarter of 2021, my country’s bicycle exports were US$1.07 billion, a year-on-year increase of 102%, and the number of exports was 16.297 million, a year-on-year increase of 73.5%; during the same period, the export of bicycle parts was US$1.197 billion, a year-on-year increase of 113.3%. The export of components has increased by more than 100% year-on-year.

The doubling of exports of bicycles and parts is based on the low export base during the 2020 epidemic (the export value in the first quarter of 2020 decreased by 28.3% year-on-year), and it also reflects strong market demand. Among the top 50 markets for China’s bicycle and parts exports, exports to nearly 80% of countries and regions have doubled year-on-year. The markets with larger increases are mainly in Southeast Asia, South America and North America, such as the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil and the United States, etc.
