Transmission manufacturer Pinion (Denkendorf) has won Canada's Bombardier Recreational Products Group (BRP) as a strategic partner. BRP becomes the new major shareholder.

BRP Group Canada has many years of expertise in power sports products, propulsion systems and boats. The Group's product portfolio includes propulsion systems from Rotax and Great Wall Motors, as well as snowmobiles, boats, on and off-road vehicles and pontoons. The BRP Group has annual sales of C$7.6 billion in more than 120 countries and employs nearly 20,000 people worldwide.

Pinion's founders, managing directors and shareholders Michael Schmitz, Christoph Lermen and Thomas Raith will continue to shape the company's strategic direction. Together with their current team of more than 60 employees, they hope to expand the potential of transmission and drive solutions for bicycles and e-bikes and drive the company's innovative strength forward. The previous family of shareholders who have supported Pinion since its inception until now supported this path of further growth and are dissolving from their investments.

Lermen said: "BRP's culture of innovation and focus on R&D reflects our own. We are proud to join such a esteemed company and look forward to breaking new ground with them. Together we will continue to serve our 100+ A valuable bike manufacturer offering premium pinion technology while expanding our product range and evolving drivetrain solutions."
